There are many protocols, but the most common is the HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) protocol. It is another masterpiece developed by Apple engineers, rightly considered the best choice at the moment. The principle of the HLS protocol is to break down the content into ten-second segments. Each segment is given a .ts (MPEG2 Transport Stream) file extension. In the form of a set of these files, the video gets to the user. At the same time, the HTTP server creates an .M3U8 list with a sequential index for each segment.

More and more companies are migrating to HLS because of its apparent advantages over other protocols:
